This class is for students who have taken our early intermediate orchestra course and are ready for the next level of instruction. This course will focus on skills needed to refine musical development including the use of vibrato, extreme dynamics, shifting in 2nd and 3rd positions, 2 octave scales, and play the all-state orchestra audition piece. Students will perform music requiring increased technical skill, improve sight reading skills, and prepare for entry into higher level ensembles.
Advanced Chamber Orchestra

WFCYO’s Advanced Chamber Orchestra is for students who have experience playing in advanced string duos, trios, and quartets. Students enrolling in this class must have advanced technical skill, refined vibrato, mastered shifting in 3rd-6th positions, and fortitude to practice on their own. The repertoire will include a mix of pop, contemporary, and classical music which requires advanced technical skill and ability. Students are expected to practice and perform at a high level.
