Beginning Violin Class

Meeting Tuesdays: 5:00-5:45p.m.

This class is for students who have no experience playing the violin and would like to learn. 

Continuing Orchestra Class

Meeting Tuesdays: 5:15p.m.- 6:15p.m. 

This class is for students who have at least 1 years of experience playing in orchestra. This course will focus on performing music with the use of vibrato, extreme dynamics, shifting in 2nd and 3rd positions, and playing 2 octave scales. Students will perform a mix of classical, pop, and contemporary music. Classes will be held in-person on Tuesdays from 5:15p.m. – 6:15p.m.

Fall Concert Dec 7, 2021 @ 5:45p.m.

This class is for students who have taken our early intermediate orchestra course and are ready for the next level of instruction. This course will focus on skills needed to refine musical development including the use of vibrato, extreme dynamics, shifting in 2nd and 3rd positions, 2 octave scales, and play the all-state orchestra audition piece. Students will perform music requiring increased technical skill, improve sight reading skills, and prepare for entry into higher level ensembles. 

Advanced Chamber Orchestra 

Meeting: Tuesdays – 6:00p.m. – 7:00p.m.

Concert Dates: Dec 7, 2021 @ 5:45p.m. and Dec. 12, 2021 at 9a.m.
WFCYO’s Advanced Chamber Orchestra is for students who have experience playing in advanced string duos, trios, and quartets. Students enrolling in this class must have advanced technical skill, refined vibrato, mastered shifting in 3rd-6th positions, and fortitude to practice on their own. The repertoire will include a mix of pop, contemporary, and classical music which requires advanced technical skill and ability. Students are expected to practice and perform at a high level. At least 2-3 additional hours of practice is expected per week outside of class to master the material. Students will
