Parent Update

Greetings WFCYO Families,

We have an exciting season ahead!  We are collaborating with several other community organizations this season, so we want to make sure that you have information well in advance.  If you registered prior to today, please take note that our Spring dates have changed to begin three weeks earlier than previously posted.  If you have not registered, please do so by clicking the registration hyperlink:  Registration

Note: The system will require you to pay for the entire Fall Season in order to register ($85 + $85 = $170).

Audition Information

Music for the Intermediate and Advanced Orchestra requires different skill sets such as playing in different keys and time signatures, executing more complex rhythms, varying bowing techniques, use of vibrato, and left hand position shifting.
If your child is already enrolled in one of these orchestras, they do not have to audition to stay in the orchestra. However, please use the audition criteria as an indicator of where they should be. We encourage all children to practice their scales and arpeggios over the summer.
Auditions will be held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters only. Students who would like to move up to the next level of orchestra or audition for first stand will need to set up an audition time with Ms. Ava (ava@wfcyo.org). She is out of the country currently, so please reach out to her next week. If you have any issues or concerns, please feel free to contact me Lbooth@wfcyo.org.
Respectfully,
Dr. LaSaundra Booth, NBCT
